Anya's Introductory Post

You arrive with the smell of flowers. With you, you carry the scent of jasmines and snowdrops and lilies and lotuses and all these pretty white flowers piercing their warmth into the cold, ebony night. Your fingers dance around to mine, placing that ambrosial bouquet in my one hand and your hand in my other. You nuzzle your jaw into my neck and tickle my skin with your lips. We never fleshed out the exact moment where our meetings become more than simple friendship, but that’s us: strikingly natural, embedded in our untaught intimacy. Hi! My name is Anya Rana and I am a freshman student who carries an affinity towards literature! With my close friend Nat who shares a passion for creative uses of language, I helped to found this blog in order to both share and inspire writing. This sample is an excerpt from 'Midnight Walk' which is one of the freestyle short-form writing pieces featured from my collection of similar works. As an author, I naturally gravitate mostly towards more abstract and short form writing styles such as poetry, song lyrics, and vignettes. I love to focus on sensory details, emotional resonance, and unique tone within my pieces. Between reading, writing, singing, and other creative expressions, I aspire to develop my voice and style as a writer and motivate others.
